Corvette gets the axe
Now that we have your attention...
Corvette-loving guitarists can shred it up on guitarmaker Paul Reed Smith's Z06-inspired Corvette Standard 22 guitar. As far as cars go, the Corvette is as rock-and-roll as it gets, making this a match made in heaven. Special edition markings include the 'Vette logo as well as either "Z06" or "427" inlayed into the wood of the fretboard, and the axe comes in the same colors as the car, including Victory Red, LeMans Blue and Daytona Sunset Orange.
The price point of over $4,700 would normally make us balk, but the fact that Paul Reed Smith is responsible for the design of the carved mohagany instrument means it's likely worth it.
Thanks to Noah for the tip.

Holy crap, Autoblog.
You scared the sh!t outta me with that headline!
(Even though its obvious that the Vette would never be axed)

Actually, the first think I thought of was a custom guitar like Gibson's 50th Anniversary Corvette 6-string. The PRS Z06 at $4,700, is the Z06 of guitar prices.

Cool guitar! Wonder if I inlayed some Kia logos and say that it was inspired by the Sedona, can I sell it for more than it's worth?

I hate stuff like this. If the guitar actually had styling cues from the Vette then i'd be all for it, but lets face the facts some guy made a bunch of yellow guitars, put Corvette logos on them and is trying to sucker Corvette enthusiasts into paying $4700 for a "Corvette" guitar. It's a joke.
If these things sell well i'm going to go into this business. Buy a bunch of top end guitars, put car logos on them and sell them as that make/model car guitar.

As a guitarist for 12 years I wouldn't buy one personally.
However, Paul Reed Smith guitars are always in the range of a few thousend dollars at least, often in the $10,000+ range [I played one worth 14k last week, they feel unconfortable to play to me]
So be assured that this is a high quality guitar, not some shaddy guitar maker trying to make a quick buck. It would be a somewhat investment, and a great quality guitar.
